Minimum Requirements to Play GTA 6 on PC

The official requirements for Grand Theft Auto VI for PC have not yet been published by Rockstar Games, as the game is officially set to release on May 26, 2026, on consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S). The PC version will likely arrive between 2027 and 2028. However, based on informed speculation, the requirements of previous Rockstar games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V, and the capabilities of the new generation consoles, the following minimum and recommended requirements can be estimated:

Estimated Minimum Requirements (1080p, low settings, 30-60 FPS)

• Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909 or later) or Windows 11
• Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
• RAM: 12 GB
• Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB) / AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT (4 GB)
• Storage: 150 GB on SSD (mandatory expected due to asset loading in open world)
• DirectX: Version 12
• Connection: Broadband for online functions

Recommended Estimated Requirements (1080p/1440p, high settings, 60 FPS)

• Operating System: Windows 11 64-bit
• Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
• RAM: 16 GB
• Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (8 GB) / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (8 GB)
• Storage: 150 GB on SSD (preferably NVMe for optimal load times)
• DirectX: Version 12
• Sound: Compatible with Windows Spatial Sound or Dolby Atmos (optional for immersive experience)

Requirements for Ultra Estimated (4K, ultra settings, 60 FPS)

• Operating System: Windows 11 64-bit
• Processor: Intel Core i9-11900K / AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
• RAM: 32 GB
• Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (12 GB) / AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX (24 GB)
• Storage: 150 GB on NVMe SSD
• DirectX: Version 12

Important Notes:

• Optimization: Rockstar is known for optimizing its games well for PC, so even configurations close to the minimum requirements could offer a decent experience with reduced graphical settings. Technologies like NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and possibly Intel XeSS could help improve performance on compatible GPUs.
• Mandatory SSD: Due to the size of the open world and asset loading, an SSD will be essential, with recommended speeds of at least 2.4 GB/s for a smooth experience.
• Comparison with Consoles: The hardware base of the Xbox Series S (equivalent to an RTX 3050 / Ryzen 5 3600) suggests that the minimum requirements will not be excessively high, but the PC version will likely include visual enhancements (better shadows, draw distance, etc.), which will raise the requirements for high settings.
• Mods: The GTA modding community is very active, and mods can significantly increase the requirements, especially in terms of VRAM and CPU.
